You’re Not Letting the Real You Out (and it’s getting old, Sister)

It’s just a matter of time before you fall back in line with your authentic self.  You know this. It happens literally every time you veer off course. Every damn time.

But it doesn’t have to feel so harsh, so difficult, like such a struggle.

You’ve mistakenly believed that you had to hit rock bottom — whatever that looks and feels like to you — in order to feel justified in letting yourself be authentically you.

It doesn’t matter WHY that is.

Knowing why is fine, it’s the jumping off point.

Like when you enter starting coordinates into GPS so you can navigate to the desired destination.

But prolonged digging in the why isn’t going to change the why.

Just like saying “I’m here at 5 Main Street.  Yup. Still at 5 Main Street. Sure is 5 Main Street. Why am I at 5 Main Street?  Why can’t I seem to leave 5 Main Street? I’m going to be stuck at 5 Main Street forever!” isn’t going to help you move away from 5 Main Street.

You’re stuck at 5 Main because you haven’t just MOVED toward the desired destination.

So take off the proverbial parking brake, keep your gaze on your destination, and step on the damn gas already.

This is when the authentic you is the driver’s seat and it’s time that she’s back there, where she belongs.

Be fierce,

Melissa

The most fierce thing you can do is allow your authentic self to be in the driver’s seat, no matter what.  Want help doing that?  With clarifying your desired destination?  I got you. And we’ll also keep your gaze on the destination, too, so you don’t veer off course.
