I often teach that if you are going to move powerfully forward you have to connect with what you would be thinking, feeling, and doing differently when you are living your desired outcome or experience.
And while this is 100% true, sometimes that can feel tricky to navigate. Perhaps your current physical environment feels too daunting to take that leap, or maybe fear is just being a really loud SOB.
Whatever the case, I have a simple strategy to help you circumvent this issue.
First, let’s recall that your desires are there for a reason. The goals you want to reach, the life you would prefer to be living … they are already available to you. You couldn’t want them if they weren’t, they would not even be in your awareness.
SINCE that is true (we’re just going on blind faith today — as we always should),
what would you NOT be doing when you are living in the goal, living at the end you have in mind, that you are doing consistently right now?
I’m going to need you to stop doing that thing, my friend.
If at first you cannot identify what is behaviorally known as “incompatible behavior” (aka what you would be specifically doing differently when you’re living the goal), then get out of your head and into your body. Go for a walk or run, have a dance party, go for a hike. Just get the energy moving.
But at the very least stop doing that thing you 100% will not be doing when you live in the desire.
With love,
Melissa
