How to Overcome the Fear of Speaking Up (and let your voice be heard, dammit)

No matter how successful you are, there has been a time or will come a point when speaking up about something feels daunting.

Yes, even for those of us who are notoriously outspoken.

There are many reasons this can occur, most notably:

>>> we have been shut down by an authority figure in our lives on this subject before

>>> we’ve spoken up about this issue in the past and it hasn’t yielded us the results we want, or it gave us a worse outcome than what we were already living

>>> we haven’t yet made our stance on a particular issue known and we are afraid of how we will be viewed after

In order to overcome the lovely objections fear so eloquently posits, I want you to focus on a few things.

First, remember that everyone is you pushed out. Everyone is a mirror to versions of you. So any time you fear that someone will judge you, it’s actually just you judging you, boo.

Now that’s not to say the other human who you think will judge you won’t once you are aware of this, or that if they do judge you, they won’t make their way out of your life.

But, so what?

You do not have the time nor the energy to waste on humans like that.

And, the best part is, they are just making room for people who are more aligned with your true core. Let’s usher those bad boys in, shall we?

Secondly, YOUR PEOPLE NEED YOU.  Yes, I’m yelling because I need you to really hear me.  The people you serve need you to be as unwaveringly authentic as possible.  So even if your voice (and/or legs) shake, speak up.  And do it now.

Lastly, the gateway to you letting in the outcomes you want is opened when you do what is outside of your comfort zone.  It may not appear open at first (because sometimes old energy – old limiting beliefs – needs to clear out), but as long as you keep reminding yourself that everything is for your benefit, you will see the realization of what you’re seeking as you consistently and deliberately act outside your comfort zone.

It’s time.  Speak what needs to be said.

With love,

Melissa
